Farooq Khan releases annual report at a donation camp organized by She Hope Society

In keeping with its commitment to improve the quality of life of differently abled persons, She Hope Society for Women Entrepreneurs (SHSFWE) Tuesday, organized an event under the theme “Enhancing Accessibility of persons with disabilities”.

The event was conducted with the objective to augment the accessibility of persons with disabilities by donating them different kinds of aids and appliances free.

Advisor to Lt. Governor, Mr.Farooq Khan who was the chief guest on the occasion handed over most of the mobility aids to persons with disabilities.

The major highlights of the event were distribution of motorized wheelchair, aids and appliances, donation of prosthetic aid and fitment and inauguration of Drape Moulding Unit and Laser Therapy Unit.

These motorized wheelchairs donated have been imported from abroad which will make the mobility of the recipient hassle free and effortless.

The event also saw the inauguration of the newly installed Laser Therapy Unit at Hope Disability Centre which can treat about forty different kinds of ailments in reduced time. It is pertinent to mention here that this is one of the only four such equipment available in the valley.

The chief guest also inaugurated newly set Drape Moulding Unit. A major benefit of drape forming is the low cost tooling or fixtures. Another benefit of drape forming is that the plastic is not typically stretched during the process so the plastic retains its full dimensional thickness from that of its original form in a flat sheet of material. In addition, the plastic sheet, if clear or textured, will retain its surface features post-processing.

The advisor to the Lt. Governor also released the annual report of She Hope Society for Women Entrepreneurs on this occasion.

Mr. Farooq Khan took the stock of the activities that Hope Disability Centres indulges in. He was particularly impressed by the work HDC is doing in the domain of disability, “I was touched while talking with a few beneficiaries rehabilitated by HDC”, he said.

While talking to media persons he said “Hope Disability Centre is doing a noble job and resources are properly being utilized. Government will extend every possible support to them to continue with this upright work,”
